Veteran Nollywood veteran actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, revealed why she was banned from the Nollywood film industry years ago with some of her colleagues.
The veteran actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde made this known during an interview she had recently.
According to The Nation, Omotola was banned alongside Jim Iyke, Stella Damascus, Ramsey Noah, Genevieve Nnaji, Nkem Owoh and Richard Mofe-Damijo.
This happened after Omotola and her colleagues decided to push for more rewarding standards in the industry but the marketers decided to sideline them.
Omotola noted that their quest for professionalism and better structure was rejected at the time. The marketers said they were too troublesome because of this.
They later convened a reconciliation meeting which Omotola chose not to attend. In her words, “They called for a reconciliation meeting and I refused to go.”
She also revealed in this interview that she and Genevieve are on good terms but they are not close. This is to debunk every negative rumour about their relationship. She said, “people don’t need to be best friends, but we talk.”
