The social media personality was arrested in Lagos last Friday and later transferred to Abuja, where he remained in custody before his release last week.
According to Speed Darlington, the arrest was based on a formal complaint lodged by Grammy Award-winning artist, Burna Boy. The nature of the complaint stems from alleged def@matory statements made by Speed Darlington.
Speed Darlington, also known as Akpi, has broken his silence on IG live following his release from detention. The controversial personality made waves with a mockery video where he claimed Burna Boy’s Grammy success was tied to his affiliation with music mogul Diddy.
In his latest statement, Speed Darlington made it clear that his issue is not with Burna Boy but rather with the Nigerian police, saying:
“I got no beef with Burna Boy. It’s the Nigerian police I have beef with.”
He also hinted that Burna Boy felt thre@then by him, suggesting that Burna believed Speed was “spoiling something” for him. Speed Darlington further alleged that Burna Boy pays significant amounts to blogs for promotion, confidently adding:
“I’m way bigger than him.” he says while throwing a subtle jab
