A trending video of a University of Jos Student kidnapped on the Jos-Kaduna Highway has sparked online reaction after the video surfaced online.
Yesterday evening, a clip of a group of bandits torturing a 20-year-old student from the university of Jos has caused a lot of reaction online after the clip was shared online.
How Arum Azi was kidnapped along the Jos-Kaduna Highway
A source revealed that a Bandits ambushed Arum Azi, A university of Jos Student who is in late 20’s from Kabong in Jos North, while he traveled from Jos to Zaria for a keyboard repair Job, possibly with six others.
One of his course mates posted the video on FACEBOOK & that the post was made with his own phone, in their group chat by the kidnappers, disclosing that they’re demanding 30 million naira.
In the 90-second clip shared via Whatsapp, assailants in the blue robes beat him with stick; they first demanded 30million naira ($18,000), now lowered to 4Million after negotiation.
His ethnic group, Afizere Youths Movement, is fundraising via specified Bank accounts to secure his release amid ongoing threats.
The case underscores rampant banditry on the highway, with online calls growing for donations and urgent action as authorities stay silent.
