Popular Nigerian Social media influencer and Activist, Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has rev£aled the reason behind the generous ₦100 million donation made by Mavin Records founder, Michael Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, to his newly launched Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO).
In an Instagram post on Thursday, VeryDarkMan expressed his gratitude for the significant contribution and explained that Don Jazzy decided to support his cause because of its focus on improving humanity, particularly through education.
“Let it be known that on the 16th of October 2024, this man named Michael Collins Ajereh, aka Don Jazzy, donated ₦100 million to give public school kids advanced education with the aim to provide them a solid educational foundation,” VDM wrote. “Let it be known that Don Jazzy gave money to someone named Martins Vincent Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, because he believes in his work for humanity.”
According to Vanguard Newspaper, the influencer shared that despite Don Jazzy’s generous support, their interaction in person had been brief.
He explained that the two had only met once and exchanged a quick handshake, with no extensive conversation or personal connection prior to the donation.

“I and him met once, shook hands, and that was it. We didn’t even talk for one minute. It’s not like he knows my background or anything,” VeryDarkMan added, underscoring the genuine and selfless nature of Don Jazzy’s contribution.
The donation comes shortly after VeryDarkMan unveiled his NGO on Saturday, an initiative focused on transforming public education in Nigeria.
The NGO aims to integrate cutting-edge technologies and innovative teaching methods, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), into the public school system, providing students with a more advanced and inclusive educational experience.
Upon announcing the creation of his charity organisation, VDM received overwhelming support from various sectors, raising more than ₦35 million within the first 24 hours.
The influencer’s initiative has continued to gain momentum, attracting donations and support from numerous individuals and organisations committed to seeing positive changes in Nigeria’s educational landscape.
