A trending video of Nigerian Minister of works, David Umahi has gotten tongues wagging online as he told a correspondents of a popular news platform, Arise News to speak regular English because he doesn’t understand phonetics.
The Former Governor of Ebonyi state, and now a serving Minister under the Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has unleashed his comical side at a recent event as he complains about the vocabulary of media company correspondents, Laila Johson-Salami.
According to the viral clip, The Arise News correspondents was seen asking the minister of works some questions at the event, as he complains that he was raised at the village and doesn’t understand her phonetics.
The minister of works urged the young lady to lower the way she speaks so he can be able to understand her.
In his words, He said;
‘’Sister, I was raised in the village I no dey hear phonetics…speak regular English’’
Responding to the minister’s statement, laila said that she can’t change her ways of speaking while urging him to get an interpreter among the people around him.
