The Biggest Reality Show in South Africa kick-started on Sunday, 12th of Jan 2024, and the review of what went down in BBMzansi Season 5 has been compiled together for those who are not watching the show.
On Sunday, 12th of Jan 2024, 20 housemates were announced on stage as the newest housemates for the BBMzansi Season 5 Edition.
The Host of this new season, Mr Smash Afrika auditioned them as they promised the viewers a show to remember this season. The housemates got into the house in barely 24 hours, as they got their first twist of the season by Biggie.
According to the twist, they were asked to play a game so Big Brother picked a central leader in person of Bonnie Bee, a reality star on the show.
New housemates Audition
After Bonnie Bee was announced as the Central leader, they started the game, along the line, Biggie introduced some new housemates and the 20 housemates that were announced on stage had to audition the 4 housemates that they would like to join them, making a total of 24 housemates for this season.
Kat was the first new housemate who got auditioned by the other housemates already in the house, but due to Kat’s playful nature, she was rejected and Biggie sent her back home.
Kat’s rejection caused a lot of controversy online as fans opined that the housemates were jealous of her achievements and they feel intimidated by her presence in the house.
Dube, a new housemate was auditioned after Kat and he gave a lovely introduction speech that captured the hearts of his colleagues in the house
During the voting time, They voted massively for Dube to be in the house, but Bonnie Bee who happens to be the Central leader had to manipulate the process by switching Siphalee, a new housemate who also auditioned alongside, Kat and Dube.
Dube’s inability to be on the show also ignited a lot of mixed reactions as many viewers of the show frowned at Bonnie Bee as they revealed that she intentionally sent Dube’s home so that she could bring her crush, Sipha Lee into the house.
Nsuku, Melino, and Philile got auditioned too and they were lucky this time as they got picked as a new housemate for the BBMzansi Season 5 Show.
Shortly after the auditioning event, the housemates had to introduce one and other as they get to know more details about themselves.
Big Brother stepped in as he gave his welcoming speech for his new visitors who will be spending the next 72 days under his roof.
Kay B and Nsuku Clash
Barely 7hours in to the commencement of the show, Kay B , the first housemate to be announced on stage had a f!ght with her colleague, Nsuku .
Although, it was a minor disagreement which escalated into a shouting match, leaving housemates stunned and viewers glued to their screens.
The housemates had to come in as they settled it for them. The following morning, Nsuku and Kay B confronted each other and they later resolved their beef amicably.
Kay B and Savage Relationship
Kay B and Savage, a Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 Housemates who met one and other on the show and they had kick-started their relationship in less than 24 hours in the house, became one the trending topic on social media as fans opined that it is too early for them.
Many opined that Kay B was pushing things in a high velocity with Savage, making him the victim in their relationship.
The Duo sparked controversy as they had a steamy session in the pool party, few days after getting to know each other.
They also had their first k!$$ in the house during their truth and dare game, sparking more reactions from their fellow housemates.
Sweet Guluva became the first Head of House of this Season.
Sweet Guluva, a very handsome housemate of the BBMzansi Season 5 show emerged the first head of house of the season after he was the first housemates to complete the ball during the HOH challenge on Monday.
The Reality star has been trending based on the history he made as the first head of house amongst other housemates that participated at the Head of House Challenge.
Monday Nominations for the BBMzansi Season 5 Show Housemates
After the head of house challenge, Sweet Guluva emerged the winner and was immediately announced by Big Brother. After an hour, the nominations for the week began as the housemates nominated each other for possible eviction.
According to Biggie, Host Smash Afrika announced on the live show that the nominations for the week were fake and that no housemates would be evicted this week.
That sounds as a huge relief for the housemates and the viewers of the show as they get to enjoy the one week fame, enjoyment before finally facing eviction the following week.

Sweet Guluva saved Ashley and replace Jojo
After the nominated BBMzansi Season 5 show housemates were announced by Biggie, he asked the Head of the House, Sweet Guluva to save and replace one housemate from eviction.
He proceeded by saving Ashley and replaced her with Jojo
The Housemates First Diary Session
On Tuesday, 14th, the BBMzansi Season 5 Show housemates had their diary session with Biggie as they discussed with him how things have been since they came on the show.
Some of them told Biggie how they had bonded well with their colleague and those who they had issues with.
Kay B during her diary session revealed that she regretted nominating Nsuku and Melino, while noting that she should have nominated Ashley.
Siphalee had an emotional diary session as he revealed to Biggie that they are bullying Nsuku, insinuating that it was majorly from Kay B.
Bonnie Bee told Biggie that he doesn’t feel Ashley and Gugu were a threat to her as she noted that they are just there.
Speaking further, she said they are just old pieces in the house and they don’t fit into the collective.
Ashley during her session revealed that Kay B was unnecessarily loud and she is pressurizing Savage into that talking stage situation they has been going on between them.
According to Ashley, she made a very controversial statement during her session with Biggie as she noted that she doesn’t like listening to anyone’s authority, but will only listen to Big Brother and the Head of house only if Biggie is making sense.
Siphesihle also told Biggie that Savage is trying to flirt with her while with Kay B.
She noted that he had offered to put Lotion on her back, but she declined it.
Biggie surprise welcome dinner party for the BBMzansi Season 5 housemates
Big Brother surprised the BBMzansi Season 5 Show housemates as he treated them to a special dinner party with a lot of delicacies prepared for the whole event.
The housemates had the opportunity to reveal who they first had a connection with, and who they had an eye on the first time they came into the house.
It was beautiful dinner party to say, as the housemates enjoyed every bit of moment at the event.
One of the highlights of the event was when Ashley picked Sweet Guluva name at the dinner party, ignoring Luzuko.
Ashley showered him with sweet words as she noted that he was the first person she bonded with when she got into the house, leaving him so surprised and blushing as well.
The dinner party event revealed more than just first impressions as the housemates now have a better understanding of each other’s personalities, which will likely influence their strategies moving forward.
Ashley and Abobo Clash
Ashley and Abobo had their first disagreement in the house as they were preparing for their weekly wager task. Report has it that something has been brewing around Abobo and Ashley.
The viewers opined that Abobo likes Ashley and that was the reason why he has been picking on her at any slightest chance in the house.
Recall that, Abobo was caught gossiping about Ashley with Mata as he revealed that she was acting for the camera, while calling her fake.
The Drama intensified during their wager task practice as Ashley confronted Abobo while putting him in his place.
Mata Furious during Wager Preparation
Mata who is known for her fiery personality didn’t hold back when she felt disrespected during ther wager practice. She addressed the whole situation with a heated outburst while left other stunned.

Kay B and Savage takes their relationship to the next level
Kay B on Thursday can be seen serving her man, Savage with a sumptuous meal for lunch.
The reality star has taken her relationship with Savage to the next level as she has starting performing wifey duties for her man in the house.

Fortunate Setwaba better known as Nate has discussed with biggie that Bonnie bee wasn’t a cool person because she was earlier, but now she’s just like and she feel some type of way when she’s near her.

Luzuko Diary session
Luzuko, one of the handsome BBMzansi Season 5 Show housemates has told biggie during his diary session about the only person he has bonded with so far since he came on the show.
He revealed that Mandy is the only person he has bonded with and the reason behind it was that the moment she told him about her story, They have started bonding well.
Big Brother punished the housemate for breaking the house rules
On Thursday, 16th, Big Brother punished the housemates for breaking the house rules after several warning have been melted to them before coming on the show.
He accused them of breaking his rules on Speaking Vernacular, speaking in hushed tones, whispering, and deliberately disobeying his instructions.
Nate, Ashley Clash over Bonnie Bee Food
Nate has expressed her dissatisfaction with Bonnie Bee’s cooking hygiene as she called out while adding that she won’t be eating her food.
The way Bonnie Bee was handling the food had turned off her fellow colleague who pledge not to ever taste the food when she’s done making it.
Ashley known for her straight forward behavior had refused to eat the food made by Bonnie Bee causing serious tension in the house.
Bonnie Bee Hid the housemate underwear
It was reported that Bonnie Bee went the extreme as she kept the underwear of her fellow colleagues in the house after she was unable to find her Missing Lotto Star Jacket.
The whole house were confused as they couldn’t find their underwear, a move made by Bonnie Bee, in a bid to get her missing Lotto jacket back.
Ashley and Bonnie Bee Clash
Ashley, who was angry due to the move made by Bonnie Bee earlier, had confronted Bonnie Bee and the little disagreement turned into a heated argument that led to Ashley calling her a “Psycho”.
The altercation reportedly began when Ashley confronted Bonnie Bee over her recent behavior, including her controversial decision to hide the housemate belongings over her missing jacket.
After their clash, Ashley also commented on Bonnie Bee’s food as she revealed that it was bad.
Recall that Bonnie Bee and Ashley were not in good term because Sweet Guluva likes Ashley over her.
Bonnie had revealed that Sweet Guluva likes her a lot and that Ashley is not his type.

It was a fun-filled moment for them as they enjoy the sweet music played for them while they unwind for the stressful week and activities they got engaged with.
They enjoyed the swimming session, the barbeque and also the music, making the event a remarkable one for them.
Kay B and Savage had their first steamy moments
Kay B and Savage have been trending online after their Thursday pool party event as they got too busy under the duvet in their room.
According to the video posted online, Kay B can be seen enjoying the couple moment with her man, Savage who was barely n’’kd as seen in the clip.
This clip has since gone viral as viewers of the show have expressed their disappointment in Kay B, While others opined that it’s her body and she can use it as she likes.
